More Details About LeNOX – Antioxidant 626
LeNOX® – Antioxidant 626
LeNOX® Antioxidant 626 is a high-performance organophosphite secondary antioxidant used to improve the thermal and oxidative stability of polymers during processing and long-term service. It is especially valuable in polymer formulations where excellent color protection, processing stability and hydrolytic stability are required.
Laveek Addchem supplies LeNOX® Antioxidant 626 in India for plastic, polymer, masterbatch, rubber and related applications.
Product Highlights
- High-performance organophosphite antioxidant
- Excellent processing stability
- Helps protect polymers against thermo-oxidative degradation
- Effective hydroperoxide decomposition
- Good color protection during processing
- Excellent hydrolytic stability
- Low volatility
- Good compatibility with polymer systems
- Suitable for demanding high-temperature processing
- Can be combined with primary phenolic antioxidants
How Does Antioxidant 626 Work?
During polymer processing, high temperatures and oxygen can generate hydroperoxides and free radicals that accelerate polymer degradation.
LeNOX® Antioxidant 626 acts as a secondary antioxidant, helping convert hydroperoxides into more stable products before they can generate additional degradation reactions.
This makes it particularly useful in combination with primary antioxidants such as:
LeNOX® Antioxidant 1010 + LeNOX® Antioxidant 626
or
LeNOX® Antioxidant 1076 + LeNOX® Antioxidant 626
The combination provides complementary stabilization and can improve processing stability, color retention and long-term polymer performance.
Key Benefits
Excellent Processing Stability
Helps polymers withstand high-temperature processing conditions such as extrusion, injection molding and compounding.
Improved Color Stability
Helps minimize oxidation-related discoloration during polymer processing and repeated thermal exposure.
Hydrolytic Stability
Compared with some conventional phosphite stabilizers, appropriate 626-type organophosphites offer strong resistance to hydrolysis, making them useful in demanding polymer formulations.
Effective Secondary Antioxidant
Works primarily as a hydroperoxide decomposer, complementing primary phenolic antioxidants.
Low Volatility
Suitable for applications where retention of the stabilizer during processing is important.
Long-Term Polymer Protection
Can contribute to improved retention of polymer properties during thermal aging.

Antioxidant 626 in Recycled Plastics
Recycled polymers can undergo repeated heating and processing, increasing the possibility of oxidative degradation.
An appropriate antioxidant package containing a primary antioxidant and secondary antioxidant can help improve the stability of recycled polymer formulations.
LeNOX® Antioxidant 626 may therefore be considered for selected:
- Recycled PP
- Recycled PE
- Reprocessed plastics
- Polymer compounds
- Recycled masterbatch
Actual performance depends on the polymer’s previous processing history, contamination, stabilizer package and processing conditions.
Antioxidant 626 + Phenolic Antioxidants
One of the most important advantages of organophosphite antioxidants is their ability to work synergistically with primary phenolic antioxidants.
| Stabilizer | Main Function |
|---|---|
| Antioxidant 1010 | Primary radical scavenger |
| Antioxidant 1076 | Primary radical scavenger |
| Antioxidant 626 | Secondary hydroperoxide decomposer |
This complementary mechanism can provide a more comprehensive stabilization system than using either antioxidant type alone.
